The heat will first be experienced across SA by Friday with maximums nearing the mid 30’s on Saturday and Sunday. Adelaide will get some relief with a late change bringing showers or storms by Sunday evening.

The warm to hot conditions will shift east into southern NSW and VIC during Saturday, with widespread 30 degree-plus temperatures.

Melbourne will see the warm air build into Saturday. The city could see its warmest day since March this year, with the mercury expected to reach into the low 30’s on Sunday.

The heat will reach into Canberra and southeast NSW by Sunday but will be have less of an effect.

Areas of western Sydney may see a 30+ degree day Sunday, stretching inland and as far south as Canberra. The warmer than average temperatures will linger into early next week and may help to trigger storm activity.
