Sakura now available

Bayer CropScience has announced the registration of its pre-emergent herbicide Sakura, in good time for the 2012 season.

“Australia is the first country in the world to bring Sakura to market,” said Bayer CropScience managing director Joerg Ellmanns.

Bayer CropScience launched the Sakura roadshow to an audience of agronomists and consultants in Melbourne on Friday, in the first of a series of Australia-wide seminars.

Sakura, based on the active ingredient pyroxasulfone, has demonstrated up to 97 per cent control of populations of annual ryegrass resistant to Group A, B and D herbicides.

At the seminar Mr Ellmanns presented on the technology behind the product.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with agronomists and consultants to ensure they are well-equipped to educate growers about Sakura,” Mr Ellmanns said.
