Wool leadership course applications open

APPLICATIONS for the Australian Wool Innovation Breeding Leadership course for 2012 are now open.

The course, which was conceived by a woolgrower, was established in 2006 to develop the leadership and professional skills of young people involved in the wool industry.

Since then, over 60 people have completed the course and in doing so have improved their leadership, marketing, strategic planning and time management skills.

Simon Williamson from Williams in Western Australia took part in the course in 2010 and said it changed his perspective and way of doing business.

“Breeding Leadership is a fantastic opportunity to explore and challenge your leadership skills and strengths in business and in life. It is also a great opportunity to interact and network with other like-minded youth of the Australian wool industry,” he said.

Course deliverer, Carlyn Sherriff, says the course is an excellent opportunity to gain new leadership skills and network with other younger people within the industry.

“At the end of the course, participants will have sound leadership skills that will enable them to become enthusiastic, influential, dynamic and dedicated leaders within the wool industry and their communities,” Carlyn said.

The four day course explores themes of marketing, leading and managing people, corporate governance, succession planning, time management and strategic planning and includes some time on farm.

Breeding Leadership is delivered by Rural Directions Pty Limited and takes place during February in Clare, South Australia.

Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Carlyn Sherriff on 08 8842 1103 or [email protected]老域名 to enquire about the application process. Applications close on the 9th December 2011.
